Frequently Asked Questions

  • Hong Kong SAR passport holders: Eligible for the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Must apply for ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) at least 72 hours before flying. Valid for 2 years.
  • Chinese passport holders: Require a valid US visa (B1/B2 Tourist Visa). Apply through the US Consulate.


Hawaii is a year-round destination.

  • High Season: Dec–March (cooler weather, whale-watching)
  • Low Season: Apr–Jun, Sep–mid-Dec (fewer crowds, cheaper rates)

Yes. Both Hong Kong and Chinese licenses are accepted with a valid English translation or International Driving Permit (IDP).

  • HK License: Valid for up to 12 months
  • China License: Must present notarized English translation or IDP
  • Minimum age: Usually 21, some companies may charge extra for drivers under 25.

  • Recommended providers: T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon
